Why I will avoid Pacific Express JB for route Johor Bahru-Kuala Lumpur

Yesterday, I bought a ticket to go back to Kuala Lumpur (Terminal Bersepadu Selatan, TBS) from Pacific Express JB at the ticket counter in Terminal Larking, Johor Bahru. I specifically asked if the bus will go directly to Kuala Lumpur and a “non-stop” journey and they said yes but there will be a short bathroom break. I then asked for a single seat which they said that it is a free seating so if I’m early then I will get a single seat. So what happened?

Firstly, I arrived 15 minutes early and I got myself a single seat only to have to give up my seat to a lady who insisted me to swap seat with her because she is not comfortable seating beside a random guy. Being a gentleman, I gave up my seat.

The “best” thing about my journey back to Kuala Lumpur is the sound of the “music” made by the bus whenever it speeds. It is very loud, annoying and uncomfortable, the guy sitting beside me couldn’t agree more. Thankfully I brought my earphone which were able to slightly isolate the noisy sound made by the bus.

Next, the bus exited the expressway to stop for a approximately 30 minutes bathroom break. There are so many places the bus could stop along the expressway for bathroom break yet it exited the expressway. The best part about the break is they failed to made sure everyone has board the bus before departing causing 3 people being left behind so we had to wait for them. I have no idea how they catch us.

Is that it? No! They lied to me when they said the bus is a direct bus to Kuala Lumpur when it exited the expressway again to drop few passengers in Seremban. What was suppose to be a maximum of 4 hours journey has become over 5 hours. The bus should have begin its journey at 9:00PM yet it left Larkin at 9:35PM and arrived in Terminal Bersepadu Selatan (TBS), Kuala Lumpur at 2:40AM.

I was hardly able to sleep thanks to the super loud noise. Because the bus kept on making unnecessary stops & turning on the light, it woke everyone up; I couldn’t get the rest I was suppose to get during the journey. This ¬†should be first and the last time I would board Pacific Express JB en route to Kuala Lumpur; hopefully I will not encounter such experience again in the future.
