Among everyone who are still alive, I’m the 5,225,585,085th person and there were 80,249,986,129 people born before me. I know its not accurate as I’m pretty sure it is based on approximation and there is no way anyone can know how many people were born before me as we don’t even know what happened a thousand years ago but hey, it doesn’t hurt to have a number among all other human being.

A few days ago, Quarx released a stable version of CyanogenMod 7 for Motorola Defy. Like the previous version, the 720p recording is still not working. Since I rarely record any video thus I don’t really bother about it.

Just a few minutes ago, I upgraded my Defy from CM7 RC1.5 and decided to write how I did it. I’m not sure what are the actual steps to update but here is what I did:

1. Copy CM7.1.0-11 Stable to the root of your SD Card
2. Hold power button for a few seconds until phone options pop up
3. Choose Reboot then choose Recovery then press OK
4. Wipe Cache Partition
5. Install CM7 from SD Card by choosing the CM7.1.0-11 Stable
6. Install Google Apps from SD Card (some say this is not necessary but I just did it)
7. Go back to the main menu of your recovery and Reboot your phone
8. Wait for a few minutes, if your phone do not boot, plug out your battery then plug it in back and start, your phone should be running CM7.1.0-11 Stable by now

It has been months since I last post a new entry, it was due to many reason which among them is because I kinda lost interest in writing. Anyway, today I just moved my blog to a new cloud in Tokyo, Japan. I now have two nodes, one at Michigan and the new one at Tokyo which I’ve just subscribed 12 hours ago.

If everything goes well, I’m planning on making the Tokyo node as my primary node to serve Asian customers as from my experience I am yet to find a shared hosting provider which is affordable yet reliable. I know the bandwidth here is expensive but that’s definitely not an excuse to charge way too much for something way too little.

Finally, a  new post from me in August, I short one I guess. Recently, I bought a new phone after my previous one was broken with water involved, rain and wet clothes bla bla bla. Thanks to my beloved sister who gave me some extra money so that I can buy a new phone to replace the broken one. After days of surveying the market, I finally bought a Motorola Defy. It is a water resistant phone and it comes with Gorilla Glass making it almost invincible.

Now, I won’t have to worry about using my phone during the rain or putting it inside my wet clothes or even dropping it inside a pile of water. That’s all for now, I’ll post more about the phone in the future when I’m free. Currently busy with my Research Assistant tasks.

Are you on Google+ yet? I’ve signed up after a friend of mine invited me, its currently open for invitation only so I guess there aren’t many people yet. It is almost a week since I joined yet my circle has less than 10 peoples. I read somewhere saying that Google+ will be made public at the end of this month, I hope that by then I will be able to have more people within my circle.

What I am curious about is, will Google+ be able to become a phenomenon like Facebook and Twitter? Of course it is being developed by a giant company but do you guys remember Google Wave? I thought Google Wave is suppose to be something that will beat Facebook but it turns out there are some people out there who do not even know what Google Wave is or worse they never even heard of it. From my point of view, Google+ is a better version of Facebook just like Facebook is a better version of MySpace and Friendster. But, I doubt Facebook will allow Google to snatch their position as the best social networking site. I’m pretty sure that Facebook has something in mind to make people stay.

Actually, I want to share my joy that both my blog and my other website, ihosterZ has been updated from PR0 to PR2 effective today. Thanks Google for generously giving PR2 for domains which are just a year old. Not to mention, I didn’t really work on backlink. Hopefully in the next update, I will be able to get a higher PR, four perhaps?
